Mental Health Awareness Session at Volakadu South School: Empowering Students for Emotional Well-being
As part of its commitment to promoting mental health awareness, NOSFAM conducted an insightful session for Grade 8 students at Volakadu South School. This session, led by Ms. Soujanya Shetty, an expert counselor with over 16 years of experience, aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of mental health in their daily lives.
The session delved into a variety of crucial topics, including understanding emotions, stress management, and the importance of seeking help when needed. Ms. Shetty, with her wealth of experience and compassionate approach, created a safe and open environment for the students, encouraging them to express their thoughts, concerns, and feelings without fear of judgment. Through engaging discussions, interactive activities, and real-life examples, the students gained a deeper understanding of their emotional well-being and the various ways to cope with stress in a healthy manner.
The session emphasized the significance of acknowledging one’s feelings, identifying stress triggers, and the importance of reaching out to trusted individuals when faced with emotional challenges. This initiative helped break down the stigma around mental health and promoted a culture of openness and support among the students.
